London & Paris - Doing The Double?!

So.. it's been a while! The only excuse I can make for the extended silence is a very busy few months, which included finishing my Mathematics degree at Loughborough University and starting a new job. It's been fun!

Anyway, I thought I'd let you in on something crazy. Along with signing up to run Paris again next April (all 26.2 miles of it!), I also quietly entered into the ballot for the 2015 London Marathon. The two take place just two weeks apart, with Paris on 12th April and London on 26th April. I'll find out early in October if I've been successful in the ballot.

The moment I submitted the ballot form I knew I was barking mad, but as the weeks pass and I have more time to think about it, the more I'd really love to take on the challenge. If I were to be given the opportunity to run both, it'd be another mountain to climb and that's something I've been looking for ever since I finished my degree. After concentrating for three years straight and finally accomplishing the end goal of graduating with a good degree I've been feeling a little empty and as if I need something new to aim for. This could be it!

As with any superhuman fitness feat, it'll be a great opportunity to raise some money and awareness for a charity. Whether it's one marathon or two in April, I aim to run for Kate's Home Nursing- a local charity who provide nursing for patients in the last stages of their illness. They were incredible in caring around the clock for my boyfriend's grandmother in her final weeks earlier this year and I would love to give something back. If anyone is interested you can find out more about what they do here:

I'll be posting more of my journey and let you in on the result of the ballot. I'm super excited to get my legs back into action and training again. If I'm unlucky this time then maybe it's not to be and I'll just stick with Paris next year. Heck, a year ago I didn't think I'd ever run one marathon, let alone consider doing two in two weeks!
